About Us

SER-Jobs for Progress of the Texas Gulf Coast, Inc. (SERJobs) mission is to transform the lives of individuals through education, skill-based training, employment, and long-term financial stability. SERJobs’ core services are tailored to the needs of each individual client, including navigation, career coaching, basic education, job readiness/essential skills training, financial literacy & financial coaching, occupational training, paid work experience/internships, and employment services. These services are vital as unemployment, underemployment, and wage inequality for marginalized populations are major issues that impact individuals, families, and the community as a whole.

SERJobs serves historically-marginalized populations from low-income, at-risk areas across Greater Houston, including veterans, ex-offenders, opportunity youth, and other disenfranchised individuals and families.

SERJobs’ clientele range in age from 16-55+ and are predominately minorities (35% Hispanic, 48% African American), with many having limited educational attainment – 44% have a high school diploma, GED, or less
