About Us

Established in 2014, the Houston ToolBank serves community-based organizations by providing tools, equipment, and expertise to empower their missions. ToolBank borrowers are mainstream nonprofits, schools, faith-based orgs, neighborhood associations, & many others. In a sector that consistently faces constraints of time, personnel, & budget, our tools allow organizations to achieve their visions and do more.

The tool lending program sits at the core of our organization and began when we started operations in 2014. We have a warehouse of hundreds of tool types and thousands of individual tools, with everything from basic items like shovels, hammers, and utility knives to bigger ticket items like generators, pressure washers, and high quality power tools. This inventory allows nonprofits to increase the impact of everyday projects with minimal investment in tool purchase, maintenance, and storage.
