Let’s Breathe Together! Feel Good Stories From COVID-19

Well, it might not feel like it, but the weekend will be here before you know it. Join us for another edition of Feel Good Friday’s. Hear how Roland von Kurnatowski, TX/RX Labs, and Michael Walter, Valero Houston Refinery, are helping with the fight against COVID-19 and how their organizations are leading their employees and community through this pandemic.

In case you did not know, TX/RX, based in Houston’s East End, is a non-profit makerspace, and now exclusively focused on helping the country manufacture more personal protection equipment. They are making face shields, washable procedure masks with disposable inner filter, replacement n95 respirator, replacement Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), and substitute Tyvek suits. They are protecting our front-line medical works and running this operation on a shoestring with a handful of volunteers who are working around the clock.

Michael Walter is Supervisor, Community Relations of Valero Houston & Texas City Refineries ant they recently announced that its Hartley, Iowa ethanol production facility has been converted to produce hand sanitizer, in an effort to help stem the tide of the COVID-19 outbreak. Valero will also be donating gallons of this product directly to these agencies, helping to protect first responders as they continue to serve the public.
