"Broadening Participation" - The STEM Foundation Program

Description

This FREE event will showcase the South Union Community Development Corporation's The STEM Foundation Program for 3rd -12th grade students. The minute details of the event are as follows: 1. From 6pm - 6:30pm, our guest will tour the display tables and talk with the students regarding the 4 displays. (A Science, Technology, Engineering and Math table detailing lessons learned this year) 2. At 6:30pm we will begin the program by recognizing the Head Table guest. (Mr. Jose Grinan from Fox 26 News, Keynote Speaker Dr. Oscar Criner, Dean of TSU College of Science and Technology and some others) 3. At 6:35pm, Mr. Grinan will be introduced and give the purpose of the event. (Increase awareness of The STEM Foundation program in hopes of increasing participation of students, industries, businesses, churches, weekly presentations, field trips and financial suport) 4. At 6:40pm, introduce the Keynote Speaker and he will expound on the grant we have partnered with TSU on called Broadening Participation. 5. At 6:55pm, we will present a scholarship to our 2 graduates. (High School seniors) They will have a short word 6. At 7pm, we will make award presentations to our sponsors, presenters, instructors, etc. 7. At 7:10pm, a Board Member will bring to everyone's attention the donation cards sitting on the tables. (Encourage sponsorship support) 8. At 7:15pm, we will have a prayer for the meal and eat. 9. Eat and fellowship until 8pm.
