All Points Warehouse Inc (APWI) is experiencing a new norm in storage and transload activity after a 24-month Super Influx of Covid purchasing.  During 2020 and 2021 manufacturers, unsure of production capabilities, over purchased raw materials to compensate for probable shortages due to closed processing plants. This led to an unprecedented increase in trucking of 98% which has steadily declined in 2023.  Warehouses are starting to empty and get to a new normal.  This new normal is still at a 30% increase of 2019’s 2020’s projections. APWI has implemented additional equipment and services to accommodate the ever-changing demand of our manufacturers via suppliers’ needs. Lastly securing maintenance vendors to keep APWI operational and in compliance in safety, security, and yard management.

Diversifying is not new to APWI. We have steadily added branding power to our partner carriers that are managed by APWI personnel.  As a container terminal we have a never-ending need to optimize our real estate.  In doing so we have also developed an in-house maintenance group to do just that. Through APWI General Contracting we can extend our trusted connections to our community and our beloved Port Houston. Port Houston is preparing for additional growth.  Which means APWI must prepare as well.

If you are interested in increasing your warehousing capabilities, I strongly suggest the following: Know your customer and their needs.  Cultivate your customer by studying its buyers and their needs. Understanding what is best for your warehouse.  Sometimes full is not a good thing.  It just means you can’t flow cargo through it without using propane to accommodate it.  Make sure every sq footage is profitable.
